In 1965, the 101 team of the Guizhou Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources discovered the first diamond-containing potash magnesite porphyry in China in Maping, Zhenyuan, which promoted the country's diamond ore prospecting work. Liaoning and other places have successively found industrial primary diamond mines, but no breakthrough has been achieved on the Yangtze platform, and diamond prospecting work was interrupted after 1995. In 2010, Song Ruixiang, the Minister of In-situ Mining, went to Hunan, Guizhou and other places to inspect diamond prospecting work. The Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources held the "Guizhou Diamond Prospecting Expert Symposium" and started the diamond prospecting work. It was warm in the early winter, and a group of more than 50 people from the expert group inspected the potash-magnesium porphyry rock in Sinantang and Maping, Zhenyuan County, Guizhou. When stepping into the first diamond-bearing primary ore body found in China, experts were very excited. On the mountain trails, some old experts such as Guo Yangchun, Song Dinan and Xu Jun who were more than 70 years of age also became healthy and walked smoothly. Can't wait to see it. Zhou Qi, chief engineer of the Guizhou Bureau of Geology and Mining, led an expert group into Pingyu, where the No. 1 rock mass was discovered, to conduct investigations and collect specimens.
In the afternoon, the expert group arrived in Kaili, capital of Qiandongnan Prefecture, and held a "National Diamond Prospecting Work Symposium". Through field surveys of two different rock masses, namely ore-free and primary ore, in the two places of Sinantang and Maping, Zhenyuan, and careful analysis of rock mass data in the area, experts from the tectonic background, lithosphere, rocks and minerals, respectively. In areas such as learning, they talked about their own knowledge and suggestions and reached consensus. First, the Yangtze platform has prospecting prospects. The Yangtze platform is very similar to the North China platform in terms of ore-forming geological background and rock-mineral combination. The 378 rock masses found in Zhenyuan are dominated by rock beds and veins. They contain many mica rock masses and many olivine rock masses. Fewer rocks, small phenocrysts and less deep-source minerals indicate that deep rock pipes have not been found, which is of value and significance for further work. The second is to make breakthroughs in prospecting methods. The symposium clarified new ideas and methods for diamond ore prospecting on the Yangtze platform under the background of "realizing breakthrough in ore prospecting" in the new period. The next step should be to strengthen the study of the lithosphere structure and divide the deep and large faults into minerals In remote scenic spots and prospecting targets, large-scale geophysical, geomagnetic, aeromagnetic, and geological surveys are carried out to break through points and find deep rock barrels. The third is to open up ideas, strengthen confidence, establish contacts, increase capital investment, and actively promote diamond ore prospecting on the Yangtze platform.
